God has a will and a plan for
every life. That means He has something special just for you! God
reveals His special plan for us when we spend time talking with Him and
studying His word, the Bible. Someone has described the Bible as God's
love letter to us. That's a fair description. Hear what God says through
His prophet Jeremiah:
"For I know the plans I have for
you," declares the Lord, "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
We invite you to explore the Bible with us so we can
learn together what God's plan is for us. There are several
opportunities for Bible study, teaching, and discussion here at First
Southern:

Sunday Evening Bible
Study/Discussion
Our Sunday evening service at 6:00 is quite a bit
different from Sunday morning. We sing a couple of songs or choruses,
followed by an interactive discussion about the subject passage of
scripture. This is a time when we can actively share in the
interpretation and application of scripture, guided by our pastor who
leads the discussion.
We are presently in a study of the
Book of Romans. This study is entitled: The Gospel: From Here to
Eternity. While each week's discussion builds on the one before,
each session can also stand alone so it's never too late to join in.
Women's Bible Study
A special women's Bible series is
offered several times throughout the year. Studies by Beth Moore and
Rick Warren are examples of the types of studies used.
